Peak Protein 85 Vanilla is a four-source protein powder in a 900 g pouch — 30 servings of a smooth, classic vanilla shake carrying 25 g of protein and 0 g of sugars each. It is the value workhorse of the Peak range: a straightforward, high-protein mix built for daily use rather than occasional treats, and one of the better cost-per-serving options we stock in Malta.
In short: Peak Protein 85 Vanilla gives you 25 g of protein and zero sugars per 30 g scoop, thirty scoops to the pouch. If you want one tub that covers breakfast, post-training and the evening gap, Peak Protein 85 Vanilla is the best-value way to do it.
What makes Peak Protein 85 Vanilla different
Most protein powders lean on a single source. Protein 85 combines four — soya protein isolate (47%), calcium caseinate (31%), wheat protein (19%) and whey protein concentrate (5%) — each of which digests at its own pace. Fast whey hits first, casein trails behind, and the plant proteins sit in between, which is why Peak describes the formula as steady release. At 84 g of protein per 100 g of powder it is also one of the leanest multi-component blends on the market, with barely any room left over for carbohydrate or fat.
What is in a 30 g serving
- Protein — 25 g
- Energy — 111 kcal / 475 kJ
- Carbohydrate — 0.9 g, of which sugars 0 g
- Fat — 0.8 g, of which saturates 0.3 g
- Salt — 0.70 g
Every serving also carries a vitamin blend supplying 25% of the reference intake for vitamin E, vitamin C, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin B12, biotin and pantothenic acid — ten micronutrients that most plain protein powders leave out entirely.
Per 100 g of powder
1583 kJ / 371 kcal, 84 g protein, 3.0 g carbohydrate (1.0 g sugars), 2.5 g fat (1.0 g saturates), 2.2 g salt. Put another way: roughly five sixths of what you scoop out of the pouch is protein.
Ingredients and allergens
SOYA protein isolate (47%), calcium caseinate (MILK) (31%), WHEAT protein (19%), whey protein concentrate (MILK) (5%), flavouring, salt, sweeteners (sucralose, acesulfame K), vitamin blend (L-ascorbic acid, nicotinamide, DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, calcium D-pantothenate, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, pteroylmonoglutamic acid, D-biotin, cyanocobalamin).
Allergens: contains soya, milk and wheat (gluten). May contain traces of eggs.
How to use it
Add one 30 g serving — two measuring scoops, or two heaped tablespoons — to 300 ml of skimmed milk and shake for ten to fifteen seconds. Water works too and keeps the calories lower, though milk gives the vanilla a creamier body. It also stirs neatly into porridge, overnight oats, yoghurt or a fruit smoothie, and behaves well in baking where a gum-thickened powder would not. Drink prepared shakes the same day, and keep the pouch sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odours.
How it compares to a whey isolate
A pure whey isolate absorbs faster and mixes thinner; this blend absorbs over a longer window and drinks a little fuller. If your priority is the twenty minutes after a heavy session, whey has the edge. If you want one tub that covers breakfast, a mid-afternoon gap and an evening top-up without buying three different products, a multi-component blend is the more practical buy — and usually the cheaper one per gram of protein.
Who is it for?
Anyone who gets through a lot of protein powder and wants the cost per serving to stay sensible. Because it contains soya, milk and wheat protein it is not suitable for vegans or for anyone avoiding gluten or dairy — the Peak Vegan Protein Isolate is the plant-based alternative in the same range. Prefer something with a cocoa note? The same formula comes in Cookies & Cream.
