Vegan Protein in Malta: SunWarrior Warrior Blend, Classic Plus & More (2026 Guide)

Vegan Protein in Malta: SunWarrior Warrior Blend, Classic Plus & More (2026 Guide)

Plant protein has quietly become the fastest-growing corner of our shelves — and SunWarrior is the brand people ask about most. But the range itself raises questions: what’s the difference between Warrior Blend and Classic Plus? Where does the new Active Protein fit? And how do they compare with other vegan proteins on the market?

This guide walks through the whole SunWarrior line-up as it’s stocked here in Malta, then puts it side by side with the other plant proteins we carry, so you can choose by ingredients and goals rather than by label design.

Why blends matter in plant protein

The one piece of label literacy that matters most with vegan protein: single plant sources have uneven amino acid profiles, so good products blend them. Pea protein is rich in lysine but lighter in methionine; rice protein is the mirror image. Combine them — or add hemp, quinoa, chia or amaranth — and the profile balances out into a complete spread of essential amino acids.

So when you compare tubs, look past the front label to three things: which plants are in the blend, how much protein per serving, and what else is added (sweeteners, gums, flavourings). Everything below is dairy-free, soy-free and suitable for vegans.

The SunWarrior range, explained

Warrior Blend Organic (750 g) is the flagship: organic yellow pea protein anchoring the formula, with hemp seed protein, goji berry and coconut MCTs. It’s organic, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and has no added sugar, with a complete amino acid profile and roughly 25–30 servings per tub. This is the all-rounder — post-workout shakes, breakfast blends, smoothie bowls. In-stock flavours include Chocolate, Mocha, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Maple French Toast and Pumpkin Spice. (Note: Warrior Blend contains coconut, and the facility handles nuts — check the allergen panel if that matters to you.)

Classic Plus (750 g) takes the opposite route: organic sprouted brown rice is the base, balanced with pea, quinoa, chia and amaranth. It’s SunWarrior’s original rice protein grown up — the extra seeds and grains round out the amino profile while keeping rice’s gentle, easy-going character. If pea-heavy proteins sit heavily on your stomach, or you prefer a milder taste, this is the one to try. Available in Natural (unflavoured — ideal for cooking and porridge as well as shakes) and Vanilla.

Organic Active Protein (1 kg) is the performance-oriented tub: a certified-organic plant protein aimed at people training several times a week, with 30+ scoops per kilo and no synthetic sweeteners or proprietary blends. It’s the biggest format in the range — the practical choice if a 750 g tub disappears too quickly in your household. Currently in stock in Chocolate and Vanilla.

And if your goal is skin-and-structure support rather than muscle fuel, SunWarrior’s Collagen Building Protein Peptides is a different tool for a different job — we’ve written a full guide to it in our collagen in Malta explainer.

Other plant proteins we stock

Peak Vegan Protein Isolate (750 g) is the value-focused alternative: a pea-based isolate in four flavours — Natural, Cookies & Cream, Vanilla Pistachio and Salted Peanut Caramel. “Isolate” means the protein has been further concentrated, so you get more protein per scoop with less of everything else. It isn’t certified organic like the SunWarrior tubs — that’s the main trade-off for the lower price.

Not strictly vegan but often compared: if you tolerate dairy and simply want maximum protein per euro, whey remains an option — see Peak Protein 85 and our full best protein powder in Malta comparison, which covers whey, vegan and collagen side by side.

How to choose

Start with your stomach, then your schedule, then your wallet. If you’ve never had trouble digesting plant proteins, Warrior Blend’s flavour range makes it the easy pick. If pea-forward powders feel heavy, Classic Plus’s rice base is noticeably gentler. Training four or more times a week, or sharing a tub? The 1 kg Active Protein lasts. Watching spend above all? Peak’s isolate gives the most protein per euro.

Whichever you pick, the habit matters more than the tub: a scoop blended with oats and a banana after training, stirred into porridge, or shaken with plant milk between meals. Adults generally do well spreading protein across the day rather than loading it into one sitting.

FAQ

Is plant protein “complete”? Blended plant proteins are — that’s the point of combining pea with rice, hemp or quinoa. All four products above are multi-source blends or isolates with a full spread of essential amino acids.

Which SunWarrior tastes best? Taste is personal, but Chocolate and Mocha Warrior Blend are our steady best-sellers, and Maple French Toast is the cult favourite. Classic Plus Natural is deliberately plain — that’s a feature if you cook with it.

Can I use these if I’m not vegan? Absolutely. Many customers choose plant protein simply to avoid dairy, for variety, or for the organic certification.

How much protein do I need? It varies with body weight, age and training. As a food supplement, protein powder tops up an already varied diet — it doesn’t replace meals. If you have specific targets or a medical condition, check with a professional.
