What is Aloe Vera Juice?

Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller) is a cactus-like succulent native to Mexico. Aloe vera juice is extracted from the leaves of this succulent. Aloe vera is a succulent plant known for its juicy leaves and the gel-like substance found within. This gel has been used for centuries for various purposes. The gel is first pressed from the leaves. Then, the remaining leaves are finely ground, and the juice is extracted.

How healthy is Aloe Vera juice?

Aloe Vera juice contains various substances, such as polysaccharides, enzymes, amino acids, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants, which makes it considered healthy.  

How do you use Aloe Vera juice?

You can use Aloe Vera juice in different ways.

• Aloe Vera juice can be drunk (pure or mixed).
• Aloe vera juice can be applied to the skin: Apply a thin layer to your face and let it absorb briefly. Then wash your face thoroughly with warm water.  
• Aloe vera can be used as a shampoo or conditioner: Some people use aloe vera as a leave-in conditioner . Rub a small amount into the ends and leave it on all day.  
• Aloe Vera juice can be used as a mouthwash: mix the juice with a little water and rinse your mouth with it.  

What does Aloe Vera juice taste like?

Aloe vera juice generally has a mild, slightly bitter taste. The flavor can vary depending on the preparation method and any added ingredients. Some people describe the taste as slightly sour or earthy. It may also feel slightly slimy or gel-like in the mouth due to the natural texture of the juice. 

The taste of aloe vera juice can take some getting used to for those unfamiliar with it. Some people add sweeteners, such as honey or sugar, to enhance the flavor and reduce the bitterness. Aloe vera juice can also be mixed with fruit juices to make it more pleasant.

Use and storage

Shake well before use. Take 50 ml of Aloe Vera Juice 1-3 times daily, preferably half an hour before meals. Store in a cool, dark place.

After opening, keep for 15 days at a maximum temperature of 7°C.
