APOrtha® Vitamin D3 5,000 IU + Vitamin K2 MK-7 200 µg Oral Spray combines vegan K2VITAL® Vitamin K2 MK-7, which has an all-trans content of 99.7%, with natural, vegetarian Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) from the lanolin of virgin sheep’s wool in a high-quality combination product.

For the body’s own bone cell renewal, which keeps our bones stable, the necessary vital substances – including vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 – must be available to the body in sufficient quantities.

Vitamin D production in the body

Theoretically, we can reach up to 90 percent of the daily requirement of vitamin D with the help of the body’s own vitamin D formation – between May and September. In the seven months between October and April, there is not enough sunlight.

To reach 80 to 90 percent of the daily vitamin D requirement at least in the summer months, however, we would have to expose ourselves to the sun for some time around noon every day from the beginning of May to the end of September, almost unclothed and without external sun protection. No one does this because of the risk of serious UV-related skin damage. Conclusion: It is not possible. Not in practice.

Vitamin D in food

A part of the daily vitamin D requirement could also be covered through food: about 10 to 20 percent. However, reaching the target is just as difficult here. We would have to eat foods with high vitamin D concentrations every day, for example liver, egg yolk and fatty fish like mackerel, salmon and herring – Monday, Tuesday, every day. How long would you like that? And would you want to take that for 10 to 20 percent of the daily requirement of vitamin D?

Vitamin K2 MK-7 – the bone vitamin

Vitamin K2 MK-7 is the vitamin K2 form recommended by experts for the maintenance of a permanently good bone cell renewal in the body, because it has the longest half-life of all vitamin K forms.

The K2VITAL® vitamin K2 MK-7 contained in the APOrtha® oral spray vitamin D3 5,000 IU + vitamin K2 MK-7 200 µg has an all-trans-menaquinone content of 99.6 percent and is obtained using natural compounds such as geraniol and farnesol in a strictly controlled synthesis process.

Vitamin K2VITAL®

The origin of K2VITAL® dates back to 2006, when Norwegian researcher Dr. Inger Reidun Aukrust and her team discovered a process for producing all-trans vitamin K2, MK-7, using natural compounds such as geraniol and farnesol in a strictly controlled synthesis process.

The importance of the process for all-trans vitamin K2 MK-7 was recognised and patented. Two chemical stereo versions of vitamin K can exist: cis and trans forms of the molecule. The cis form remains biologically inactive, while the trans form has full biological potential. Commercially available vitamin K2 products can contain both forms.

K2VITAL® has an all-trans-menaquinone content of 99+ percent and is absolutely free of soy allergens due to the manufacturing process.
